Warranty Information
The Elan Furniture (Elan) warranty applies to the original purchaser within North America from the date of purchase. Elan will repair, replace, or prorate, at our sole discretion, any product deemed defective by Elan within the warranty timelines listed and when used in the conditions for which they were designed. Elan products are designed for normal use as seating, table and/or storage purposes only.
ELAN Steel and Aluminum Components (Structural and Exposed)
Elan warrants all steel and aluminum elements, including structural frames of tables, benches, and chairs to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years for residential and five (5) years for commercial use. This specifically covers the structural failure of welds. Product must be properly stored in an upright position to avoid accumulation of moisture inside of frames. Cracked or broken welds due to improper storage and or improper assembly are not covered by this warranty.
ELAN Wood Components (Structural and Exposed)
Elan warrants all wood elements, including surface of tables, benches, and chairs to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years for residential use and three (3) years for commercial use. This specifically covers the structural failure of the wood layup process (splitting of laminated joints). Product must be properly stored in an upright position to avoid accumulation of moisture on wood surfaces. Moisture from spills, rain, or any other cause must be removed and dried immediately. Splitting of wood joints caused by excessive moisture, improper storage, and or improper assembly are not covered by this warranty.
ELAN Finishes (Wood, HDPE and Metal)
Elan warrants all finishes including catalyzed and powder coated surfaces of tables, benches, and chairs against peeling and blistering for a period of five (5) years for residential use and three (3) years for commercial use. While catalyzed and powder coated finishes are designed to withstand warm objects, this warranty does not cover burnt or marred surfaces caused by objects that contained excessive heat. Direct sunlight can cause the fading or discoloration of the finish and is not covered by this warranty. Direct sunlight should be avoided when possible. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) products shall be free from material defects, and shall not splinter, crack, chip, peel, rot, or suffer damage from insect infestation for a period of five (5) years for residential use and three (3) years for commercial use.
ELAN Upholstery (Material)
Elan warrants Sunbrella upholstery from the Elan standard offering shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year for residential and commercial use. This specifically covers manufacturing defects of the sewing seams. This warranty does not cover fading, discoloration, cuts, tears, punctures, or other defects of the material.
COM (Customer Supplied Material) shall carry no warranty by Elan beyond freedom from defects in application.
Softening of foam will occur through normal use and is not a manufacturing defect.
ELAN Electric / Electronic Components
Elan warrants all electric and/or electronic components to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days.
Limitations and Exclusions
This warranty excludes characteristics of normal wear, including the normal wear or aging of fabrics, finishes, paint, powder coating, spray coatings, foam and filler materials, issues of cleanliness, and the natural variations in grain, color, or texture of wood components. Normal wear in an outdoor setting will also be subject to temperature fluctuations outside of “livable norms”, and fading of applied materials due to exposure to daylight is to be expected.
Whenever a special material finish is requested, Elan will attempt to match buyer’s special finish requests (via signed sample method) but assumes no responsibility if the approved sample does not meet the end user requirement.
Custom products (also known as Specials) convey the same warranties to craftsmanship and materials as standard products, unless stated otherwise at the time of the order placement. Custom products require signed customer approval of relevant design drawings / documentation. Elan does not warrant any customer approved custom product’s fit or usability or if the approved product (via signed drawings / documentation) does not meet the end user requirement.
Elan conveys no warranty for any customer specified material component such as fabrics, customer directed wood components, special upholstery materials or treatments, or any other customer-specified component. Elan will simply apply the special component elements as directed. They shall be free from defects in workmanship per the original warranty statement.
This warranty excludes damage or defects to any product caused by abuse, negligence, abnormal usage, freight, storage / warehousing, accidents, improper maintenance, lack of routine maintenance, alterations, tampering, and/or improper installation. Elan products are subject to staining from materials such as wine, coffee, etc. Care and Maintenance guidelines should be followed. Any product that arrives in a damaged carton must be photographed prior to unpacking and noted on the freight bill as part of the receiving process.
This warranty does not cover floor samples or products designated “as is” at time of sale or “buyer’s remorse.”
Elan products are used at the sole risk of the purchaser and any individuals using purchaser’s services or products. Elan assumes no liability for injury or damages resulting from normal use or abuse of Elan products.
Elan assumes no liability for labor, freight, injury, consequential or incidental damages, including any lost direct or indirect income or profits incurred by the original purchaser that may result from a defective Elan product.
Warranties not expressly stated herein, including without limitations any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for purposes are excluded and disclaimed by Elan.
No employee, independent sales representative, wholesaler, or retailer of Elan is authorized to change these warranties in any way or grant any other warranty unless in writing and signed by an Elan officer.
Claim Procedure
To submit a product warranty claim for evaluation contact your place of purchase. If they are no longer accessible you may contact Elan at 574.533.2168, via fax at 574.534.1089, or by email at service@elanfurniturecorp.com. You will be required to provide the date of purchase and photographs of the product failure in question. In certain circumstances, a representative acting on behalf of Elan (e.g., an Independent Sales Representative, Furniture Dealer or Elan associate) may make a site visit to review, document and assist in claim validation and resolution.
Freight cost of an authorized return is the responsibility of the customer. Freight collect returns will be rejected by Elan.
